The history of the Thibaut Group began in France in 1959. From the outset, the company specialized in the design and manufacture of stoneworking machinery, quickly building a reputation for expertise and robustness.
Today, the Thibaut Group is recognized as a world leader in the manufacture of machinery for processing natural stone and composite materials. We remain firmly rooted in France—a guarantee of quality and rigorous design—but our reach is international, with machines installed on every continent.
Mr. Bernard Thibaut’s father, Mr. Henri Thibaut, owner of a garage and maintenance contractor, repairs polishing heads.
Death of Mr. Henri Thibaut.
Mr. Bernard Thibaut took over the company with his brother Gaston. Gifted in mechanics, Mr. Bernard Thibaut improved the satellite heads and developed his first stoneworking machine: the G.B.10, which was an immediate success, with nearly 700 still in operation today.
Construction of a first building measuring 600 m². 36 employees, first export sale.
Construction of a second 1,100 m² workshop, where the machine tools and design office are relocated. 75 employees.

Installation of high-performance CAD tools for research and development.
Creation of the holding company Société Nouvelle THIBAUT TECHNOLOGIES.
Transfer of the company by founders Mr. and Mrs. Thibaut to their sons Jacques and Christophe Thibaut. Mr. Jacques Thibaut is appointed CEO. 60 years after the manufacture of the first Thibaut machine, nearly 4,000 machines have been sold. The company now has 121 employees.
Creation of Calas Production, based in Castres, for the manufacture of the first TC08 cutting machine. Today, more than 400 cutting machines are in use worldwide.
Creation of a new after-sales service structure in Ille-et-Vilaine called T.S.B. (Thibaut Structure Bretagne).
In response to the constant growth of his business, Thibaut is expanding and building an additional 865 m² of office space. This new space will enable him to consolidate and reorganize the various departments into three divisions: sales, technical, and administrative.
Launch of five CNC machines: the T818 & T108 A machining centers, the T58 for edge profiling/polishing, the TC04 N digital cutting machine, and the TSC400 diamond wire for contouring steles.
Construction of a 600 m² testing, development, and training center.
Death of Mr. Bernard Thibaut on May 3, 2005.
Launch of three new CNs: TC750, T812, T858. Launch of T’Cad and T’Cam software. Installation of a new robotic warehouse.
50 years of THIBAUT. Spin-off of the Zone Nord manufacturing site, which becomes CMI – Construction Mécanique Industrielle.
Implementation of a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) software package to improve various processes. Launch of the new T558 4-axis texturing center for the architectural concrete industry.
THIBAUT confirms its expertise in the manufacture of machines for large-scale production of kitchen worktops by developing and delivering a complete factory from cutting to shipping. Several notable internal initiatives in sustainable development: staff awareness, energy saving, eco-design, painting station. CMI obtains ISO 9001 certification.
Launch of the first THIBAUT “Transformer” machining robot and the new T858V2 5-axis CNC machine with THIBAUT’s patented pneumatic spindle pressure system. Creation of the new THIBAUT logo.
Merger of THIBAUT with its long-standing partner, CALAS, a manufacturer of cutting machines. Launch of the T658 profiling and polishing center.
Launch of the “T952” multifunction machine from the new All-In-One range: cutting + machining + polishing.

Thibaut is therefore positioned as a provider of comprehensive solutions in areas such as decoration, construction, funeral services, and roadworks, offering everything from manual machines to highly automated systems such as our TOPS (Thibaut Optimized Manufacturing Solutions).
Over the past 10 years, Thibaut has successfully developed a comprehensive range of a dozen CNC machining and cutting centers that meet market expectations, and still has numerous projects in the pipeline and developments underway. Sixty years after manufacturing its first machine, Thibaut has sold more than 7,000 machines worldwide.
